Is it possible do display on page total visits since wassup installed? Without informations about current users, top ten this and that.
Detailed informations that wassup collects are very valuable to me as administrator and to site members, but for visitors i wont just to display total visits to web page.

Thanks,

I deactivated plug in, then went to widget administration, saved (without any changes) current widgets in defined sidebar. Then activated wassup.

I think it is somekind of BUG and should be corrected.

I can confirm that WassUp 1.5.1 works on my blog which runs Wordpress 2.2.3, the last of the 2.2.x series. Previous to that I used WassUp 1.4.9 on Wordpress 2.2.2. I never tried WassUp on 2.2.1 because I upgraded from that a while ago.

It's possible that your site was crawled by a bot or sitemap software. Unless you exclude "spiders" in Wassup options, bots visits are recorded and can trigger very high visit counts in WassUp that don't last. Google, Yahoo and MSN bots distribute their crawling over several hours, keeping counts even. Other (typically bad) bots will crawl your entire site in 1 short visit, making visit counts spike then drop off. You should go to your Visitor Detail and select "Show items by:" [No Spam, No Spider] to see what your real visit count is like. To see your cumulative visit count, select "Summary for last:" [7 days].

Hi all, I'm new to this, but have a question. I'm ussing WassUp for my blog's stat tracking, which went live a couple days ago. Had a great day yesterday with about 2000 page views, but noticed today that the total number of visitors and page views are actually lower than what they were yesterday. I have my view set for the last 24 hours, but how am I losing page views from my "total" count that I've gotten so far?

any help is appreciated.

Braeburn,
To fix the problem, go to the WassUp ==>Options ==>[Manage Files & Database] tab and manually enter a directory path in the "Temporary Files Location Folder" text box. Once you enter and save it (and it doesn't come up red), Wassup will remember that value for all upgrades and the error won't recur.

And, if you ever see that warning again, you will need to manually start statistics recording by selecting the "Enable/Disable Recording" checkbox in Wassup ==>Options ==>[Statistics Recording] tab, otherwise no visitor data will be recorded for your blog.

Sorry that my suggestion didn't solve your problem. It would help if I knew what version of MySQL and PHP that you run on your web server. The MYSQL statement above may need to be altered just for your configuration.

I updated to 1.5.1 and the warning apear. But it works fine. the same with the version before, I guess 1.4.9. It displays the warning but works fine. I've checked everything, the php.ini the folder , the permissions, change the folder in different locations, full path and so on. but the path and folder taken from php.ini exist, and there are session files in it. So i thought it seems to be ok. just a little bug or something.
But after updating to 1.5.1 and runnig and collecting for some day's it say it had been stoped in fact of that error. I've tried to deactivate every plugin.
It's just a day of missing data but i don't wanna check the system every day

have anyone a clue to fix it?
I tried this forum and the wiki.

I installed wassup trunk 129 in my blog http://zh.linuxforfun.net/, which is in Chinese. The default charset of the blog is set to 'UTF-8' . In the wassup page, all Chinese characters in 'KEYWORDS:' are displayed as question marks (?). I examined the database and found that the table 'wp_zh_linuxforfun_net_wassup' used the charset 'latin1' as its charset, but Wordpress uses 'UTF-8' as the default charset of all tables.

I edited wassup.php, adding some lines to specify 'DEFAULT CHARSET' of tables in 'CreateTable()'. After that, Chinese characters in 'KEYWORDS' were displayed correctly.

I'm also getting the abspath errors and I'm worried about a bloated error log as they are frequent.

I would bet others are getting this as well.

joeberg:
Your error is caused by a minor bug in Wassup's "action.php" error reporting. That will be fixed easily in the next update. What's troubling though, is that "action.php" was trying to tell you that it can't find the file, "wp-config.php". Is it possible that you have a non-standard Wordpress installation?

ditsch:
Thanks for confirming the newline's effect on the "top ten". Michele probably thought I was nuts :-).

Adding the "nocache" headers wouldn't cause any problem with Wassup stats. That is collected only with user hits and is not impacted by admin functions that don't lockdown the stats database table. As it is, "action.php" may not need to disable browser caching, but that is one possible reason why "top ten" stopped working...that and some ajax/PHP 5.2.5 issue that is still unknown.

Sorry bugs.
The grayed out boxes are for upcoming "top ten" selections. They are not available in this version of Wassup. They will be activated in future updates.

Hi,

I am running the latest wassup plugin on WP 2.5
Top 10 works, but I cannot select anything else than the default settings, all the other boxes are greyed out! (i.e.: top 10 visitors).

Can anyone help?

Cheers,
B.

I solved my problem! There was nothing wrong with WP, php, apache etc. It was simply the check-boxes which were not selected... Weird since this didn't happen on the other sites.

Getting a strange error though - it says that ABSPATH is already set in wp-config? But then everything works so I don't want to mess around.

Cheers!

Thanks Helene,

the additional newline also fixed it on my site. I also inserted the additional cache control headers suggested but disabled them again because I had the impression that they slow down the stats rendering (because of reloading everything again?) and I did not have any problems with caching (I tested only on FF 3b5, though).
