Update: I kept trying to do the activation and getting the blank screen, but it did finally activate. I am still getting the error, "Fatal error: Cannot use object of type stdClass as array in /home/content/c/r/a/(path)/html/wp-content/plugins/wassup/wassup.php on line 2421" underneath several NextGEN Gallery imagebrowsers. Please advise...

I was getting the preg_match error and another array error (appeared with NextGen gallery instances) after updating to 1.8.1, so I removed Wassup, manually downloaded and installed a fresh copy. Now when I try to activate, it times out and brings up a blank page. When I refresh the "plugins" page, it still appears as inactive. Not sure what to do to get it to activate. Please help!

I found the solution. Line 703 in wassup.php should be changed from:

<? } //end if geoip_map

to

<?php } //end if geoip_map

I have short_open_tag turned off on my server:

$ php -i | grep short_open_tag
short_open_tag => Off => Off

This has bit me before on various WP plugins.

Help, I am trying to upgrade WASSUP v1.6.1 to v1.6.2 on a WP v2.6.2 system and it will not let me activate the plugin. I keep getting the following error;

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /data/ReflectiveSight.com/root/blog/wp-content/plugins/wassup/wassup.php on line 2991

I even tried uninstalling v1.6.1 prior to installing the newer version of the plugin and I have not found anything in the forums that seems to address this problem.

Help Please

Tim

Your only option is to delete the wassup folder from your wordpress plugins directory. That will forcibly deactivate wassup. Then refresh the "plugins" menu in your browser and double check that Wassup is no longer listed among your plugins. Then install Wassup again and activate it. After that, you need to confirm that Wassup is recording visits in Wassup admin menu: Wassup ==>Options ==>[Statistics Recording] tab and check "Enable/Disable Recording". Good luck.

BTW, what versions of Wassup and Wordpress are you using? And have you installed any caching plugins like WP-cache that Wassup incompatible with?

Hello,
On my site, WassUp seems to be frozen and I can't do anything with it. It hasn't updated since 2pm this afternoon even though people have visited the site since then.

I tried to deactivate it, to see if I could deactivate it and the reactivate it, but now it won't even deactivate. It says it is, but when I go back to the plugins page, it's still active.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Smitscher,
I think you are using a wordpress < 2.3 so you have to install the new branch version for Wordpress > 2.2 & < 2.3 you can download it here: wassup-1.4.5-wp2.2
You could read this post to know more about this issue.
