Hi there!

I got a fatal error with wassup, maybe it is related to NextGen gallery, but this should normally not happen as every function should hape a prefix; wassupFunctionName()..

Fatal error: Cannot use object of type stdClass as array in /wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wassup/wassup.php on line 2421

anyway here's my config:
WassUp Version: 1.8.1
WordPress Version: 3.2.1
PHP Version: 5.2.17

Update: I kept trying to do the activation and getting the blank screen, but it did finally activate. I am still getting the error, "Fatal error: Cannot use object of type stdClass as array in /home/content/c/r/a/(path)/html/wp-content/plugins/wassup/wassup.php on line 2421" underneath several NextGEN Gallery imagebrowsers. Please advise...

I was getting the preg_match error and another array error (appeared with NextGen gallery instances) after updating to 1.8.1, so I removed Wassup, manually downloaded and installed a fresh copy. Now when I try to activate, it times out and brings up a blank page. When I refresh the "plugins" page, it still appears as inactive. Not sure what to do to get it to activate. Please help!

The 'cannot redeclare' error is Wordpress' de facto default error message whenever a fatal error is unknown.

By removing Wassup from your plugins directory, you have already factored it out of the equation. So this error must have been a pre-existing one that Wassup activation coincidentally triggered, but did not cause. The likely culprit is another plugin that is buggy or is incompatible with your setup.

To fix, you need to delete ALL your plugins from '/wp-content/plugins/', then reinstall them one at a time, reloading your site's main page after each activation to verify compatibility.

Site was working fine, but as soon as I activated wassup i got the following error message: Fatal error: Cannot redeclare wassup_widget() (previously declared in /home/e7guid/public_html/poultry-mart.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/wassup/wassup.php:3825) in /home/e7guid/public_html/poultry-mart.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/wassup/wassup.php on line 3825

Now I can't open admin and even the www page (http://poultry-mart.co.uk) shows the error message. I have tried deleting the wassup folder via FTP but nothing happens. Likewise trying to rename the plugin folder. Wassup is latest version, WP is 3.0.7

Can anyone advise how to get my site back please??

Hmm...A blank plugins page during an upgrade is not usually caused by a fatal error but a browser timeout. This can occur in some browsers (Firefox) if your host server is slow or if your Wassup table is very large. Wassup upgrade and activation process continues in the background even though the browser did not wait for it to complete. If you manually enter your admin url a couple minutes after a timeout, you would see that Wassup is activated and running.

If this is what occurred and Wassup was running when you tried to reinstall it, that would have then triggered the "cannot redeclare" error.

Please read the Wordpress support thread, Latest Update killed Blog, to see if your experience was similar and make a note of what to do for future upgrades if your MySQL server is slow.

I am using WP 2.8.4. After upgrading to Wassup 1.7.2, and attempting to activate, I get a fatal error. This makes the Plugins page blank, and the only way to get it back is to go to the server and delete the wassup directory. I then uploaded a clean copy (instead of overwriting the old), and attempted to activate - got the same probfatal error.

Hi

I have recently upgraded my WordPress 2.5.1 site to use the latest Wassup version 1.6.1. I am now regularly getting the following error when trying to open any pages on my Web Site as I have the Wassup sidebar widget enabled.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function pregi_replace() in /websites/LinuxPackage04/ro/ms/ey/romseyclimbers.org.uk/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wassup/wassup.php on line 2694

Could you please take a look and advise?

Thanks

Hi Smitscher,
I think you are using a wordpress < 2.3 so you have to install the new branch version for Wordpress > 2.2 & < 2.3 you can download it here: wassup-1.4.5-wp2.2
You could read this post to know more about this issue.
