Wassup's been working fine and all of a sudden (with no changes to my blog other than new posts) the plug in stopped tracking visits appropriately. My visitor number crashed. Typically, the number of visitors captured by Wassup was much higher than Google Analytics and now it is much lower. Did something change?

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
JMR

I just downloaded and installed your nice plugin and will really enjoy it, but I'd like it even more if you were able to improve the dashboard view to give some high-level information.

How about an enhanced dashboard that shows the 24 hour graph (the rolling last 24 hours), plus...

The total number of visitors online right now. Not bots, but real visitors.

The administrators, editors, authors, contributors that are currently logged on. (Maybe set it up so you can choose which roles to display.)

Finally, the top current posts and pages that are being viewed. Maybe the top 10 listing the page title or post title and the number of visitors on that page. If there is only activity on five pages, just show that five.

What do you think? I've included a screen shot (appended to ticket #78) of a proposed look and feel. (It's really basic, but will give you the idea.)

Ticket is here... http://trac.wpwp.org/ticket/78

Thank you!

This would be helpful in tracking visitors - particularly spiders.

It occurred to me as I dug through logs reviewing spider activity. Some of them were obvious while others required a bit of research to identify. I'd like to be able to make some kind of note as I find out more about them.

Hello. I just left added to the support ticked with bots, etc., that WassUp isn't identifying, but I had an additional question/request that probably belongs here.

I assume there must be a list of patterns that are used to identify spiders, etc. If so, why not expose it for updating between WassUp releases and/or for user customization? It would be nice for users to be able to set up their own filtered Visitor Details lists. Visitors with local IPs, for instance, or referred from a few specific sites.

It's a great plugin and most appreciated. Thanks.

Hi there,

When I first installed WassUp several versions ago (and it's fantastic software, btw), the vast majority of my guests were logged with their hostname. That is to say, the actual name of the server they were visiting from (nc.rr.com or whatnot). More recently and after some upgrades, the vast majority are logged only by their IP addresses. A scant few still show server names, but most are just IP numbers. Is there any way to get WassUp to show me the server names of my visitors, or is there a utility better suited to that task?

thanks
Michael

Hello, I updated to the latest version from 1.4.3, and now when I go to the Wassup tab in the admin page, I get a graph and nothing where the list of hits should be. I have no idea if it is still tracking visitors or not, but I can't tell because they're not showing up, in any view (24 hour, week, month, year).

Any ideas? Thanks.
