Strange...perhaps the delete did not work. Did you mark the spammers by IP and delete them in the WassUp's detail screen? Or did you delete every single spam record individually for the last 24 hours in WassUp detail?
FYI.
To exclude known spammers from WassUp top ten lists, go to Wassup-Options, "Statistics Recording" tab, and enable "Spam check on Records". This allows WassUp to distinguish spammer hits from regular visitors.
To stop WassUp from logging spam hits, go to WassUp-Options, "Statistics Recording" tab and uncheck "Record Akismet spam attempts". This tells Wassup to omit known spammer records from it's database tables.
Also, when you delete all Akismet spam records from Comments, WassUp will still have those hits in its own logs.
thanks for responding helene
really, i hadn't activated akismet. i did it right now, i'll see.
i had deleted all single spam records from the latest hits list. my wp is intended to be known only to few people, so i can handle the records manually.
ciao
Hmm...since you deleted all the records manually in "latest hits", the only explanation for seeing them again in the top ten is if there is database caching and/or buffering in effect on your host server. Caching greatly improves speed, however it can cause outdated data to continue to show up until the cache is cleared. Buffering could have caused a delay between the delete requests and actual deletion.
The next time you delete spam hits, re-click the "visitor details" menu selection afterwards to load the latest hits again and make sure that the delete worked. Then, wait a couple more minutes before viewing the top ten stats to see if those numbers get adjusted accordingly.
hello, thanks again.
i fear i cant get it working:

(the upper half is the actual page in background, lightened).
i'm using vista + ff3.5, but i delete my records after posting previewing and correcting.
yet topten counts all of them, like the chinese records.
i wonder if the db gets packed/compacted, or the records are just flagged as deleted.
both the posts and the wassup tables contain many more records than i would expect.

The blog started half june, comments are off, so it's quite small, 140 posts in all: wp exports just a 500 kb xml, against the 5 mb sql from mysql.
not a great problem anyway, until the db doesnt exceed the size i bought.
thanks and ciao
i looked into the wassup table and at last i got it :)
spiders...
as you can see in the first image, i do not show them, yet they are recorded...
thanks for helping, ciao
just wondering if the counter is visible on your wordpress site or if you can make it invisible?
thanks
hello — i was on vacation a few days
which counter? i only see digits entering in wassup as admin
on my wp site there's no counter whatsoever
