First and foremost, I love this plugin. It's a great thing. So when I saw the update I broke one of my cardinal rules and clicked on update immediately. After noticing the new look (which is great) I soon noticed a couple of problems. One was that it appears to have knocked out my lightbox effect in NextGen gallery (which I replaced with another lightbox effect). I've also noticed that both the graphic and the list below it has stopped updating as if frozen on the minute after I did the update. Any ideas?
Congratulations on the update. I just installed WassUp a few days ago and was just getting used to the older version so I really noticed the improvements on 1.8. The charts look great and I like how you've formatted the extended entries on the Visitor Details view with the keywords from search hits pulled out so they are easy to read.
One question, what is the time period for the Top Ten? It looks like it changes based on the time window from where you launch it but since it's not labeled on the pop-up box, I'm not sure.
Really nice - you have done great work!
Looks great! I'be been waiting for an upgrade of this highly appreciated plugin. Thanks for the good work!
Max,
Try clearing your browser cache. Your browser may be storing Wassup's copy of jquery and thickbox and applying those to your Gallery pages when you switch pages. Clearing the cache should stop this and enable your Gallery to use it's own javascripts. Please be very careful not to clear your cookies and stored passwords when you clear your browser cache. Also, Wassup admin javascripts shouldn't affect your end users gallery experience unless they also have admin privileges and visit Wassup's pages.
Clearing your browser cache should also solve your second problem.
IanKennedy,
Thanks for your feedback about WassUp.
You are right, the time period for the top 10 chart is the same time period from the Visitor Details list where it is launched. It is a good idea to display the time period information on the top10 chart. I will do that in the next revision of WassUp.
Helene,
I cleared the cache in my browser (Firefox) and then accessed Wassap. The problem didn't go away; neither the chart nor listing updated.
I logged in and checked Wassap using Safari; the same problem persisted.
I accessed the Wassap page on a Linux laptop using Firefox. The same problem persisted.
Clearing the browser cache is NOT the solution.
Any other ideas?
How very strange. The "auto refresh" countdown timer is pure javascript that is unchanged since 1.7.2 and should not have been affected by the upgrade to 1.8.
Maybe your "auto refresh" setting in WassUp >> WassUp-Options was somehow corrupted during the upgrade. Try click the [Reset to Default] button in WassUp >> Wassup-Options to reset WassUp settings. Afterwards, You will have to change the settings, manually, to restore your previous customizations.
Resetting to Default didn't work, either. I went ahead and backed up the database (SQL and CSV) then deleted all the data. That didn't work. But, there's good news -- I was able to fix it after I completely deleted and re-installed the plugin. I'm keeping an eye on it but so far, so good.
wassup 1.8 got problem with cache plugins.. I get this error on my main page blog..
Warning: preg_match() [function.preg-match]: Compilation failed: nothing to repeat at offset 0 in /home/topotato/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wassup/wassup.php on line 3970
please check.. thanks :D
@topo what caching plugin do you have?
thanks
w3 total cache
I just registered to say this, the new design if horrible, seriously, what's up with the Windows style and the dropshadow?!
Not to mention the pseudo "3d" border on every single report, is like going back to 1999.
This way the UI doesn't fit nicely with WP admin interface, honestly looks like the design mistake WP did a few release back, v2.5, even the whole community thought the design was bad.
Now gotta go and edit some css. :\
@topo: FYI. There are known compatibility issues with W3 Total Cache and other page caching plugins that causes inaccurate Wassup statistics. We don't recommend page caching plugins with WassUp and did not test them during WassUp 1.8 beta tests, so the 'preg-match' error went undetected.
We are now working on a bugfix update, but it is still a couple days off. In the interim, here is a hack to get WassUp 1.8 working with your cache: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-wassup-wassup-18-almost-broken?replies=2#post-1807057
@disappointeduser: sorry u feel that way about the new design. If you are a web designer, we'd love to see your revision of our css. Send us a link when you are done. Please note that the file you need to edit is css/wassup.css.
@disappointeduser we are sorry you don't like the new theme but please, If you wanna share yours with the community we'll be very happy to include it (and your references if you like) in Wasssup next version.
Well I really like the new theme...
However I've had a problem with wasssup a few times since the upgrade in that I get the following error message (with website name edited out):
Warning: set_time_limit() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/fhlinux008/b/EDITED/user/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/wassup/wassup.php on line 4250
It doesn't appear to be causing any particular problem apart from messing up the admin screens until refreshed...
Hi,
Since upgrading, I've been plagued by the same error as Aces. However, this one appears to be triggered by safe mode as indicated in this error message:-
Warning: set_time_limit() [function.set-time-limit]: Cannot set time limit in safe mode in /var/www/vhosts/athena.outer-reaches.com/httpdocs/wp/wp-content/plugins/wassup/wassup.php on line 4250
Unlike Aces however, I'm also getting these errors on the the actual site, not just in the admin pages.
The theme seems to have provoked some debate... personally, I'm not too keen as it is a marked contrast to the rest of the admin pages.
Regards
Christina
@aces: Thanks for reporting the 'set_time_limit' warning error. The fix will be included in the bugfix revision of WassUp coming soon.
If you can't wait, here is a quick hack to fix it:
set_time_limit(60*60*30); // run script up to 0.5 hour @set_time_limit(60*30);Note: Wordpress 3.0.1 plugin editor fails for 'WassUp' in some configurations. If that happens, download 'wassup.php' and edit it as a 'txt' document your home computer, save, then upload and overwrite the old 'wassup.php' file in wp-content/plugins/wassup directory.
@Christina: Please apply the above fix to your copy of WassUp. Plus, you might want to look into changing your error reporting level in Wordpress to hide PHP warning errors from visitors (if you can). No errors should ever display to a visitor, especially not warning errors.
Thanks
Well a big surprise this morning...I tried to update the new version on my blog and when done for some reason I do not master, my WASSUP has totally and absolutely diseappered.
After the last 8 hours, I stil have not found a way to get back where I first were with this plugin and I supposed I have lost all my datas
The same day the social blog roll plugin has deaseappered as well while updated
Whaterever I Try to re-install both the answer is the same; There are already activated. The question is Where should I find some evidences of their presence on my admin page? What to do?
I will be desappointed as Wassup is one of my major tools
Thank you

i get following error on the white browser window when i activate plugin , and my site is down:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare wassup_widget() (previously declared in /home/myaccount/public_html/mywebsite.com/wp-content/plugins/wassup/wassup.php:4294) in /home/myaccount/public_html/mywebsite.com/wp-content/plugins/wassup/wassup.php on line 4294
@Yolande21p, @burakk:
Your problems are caused by pre-existing configuration problems or by a plugin that is incompatible with WassUp. You need to delete all your plugins from your wp-content/plugins directory, then follow these instructions to isolate the problem plugin:

Hi helene,
Just installed version 1.8.1 - The problem has been fixed, thanks :-)
Thanks for the advice about error reporting, I may take a peek at that when I get tomorrow, assuming the snow in Scotland doesn't prevent me from getting back down south :-)

Great support for this plugin!
Amazing plugin . . . however I am running into a problem trying to use it with WP Multi-Site 3.1 plus. It works on the primary site but in the sub sites I see the wassup plugin and all the setting etc. But I get an error message IMPORTANT: WassUp table empty or does not exist! when I make changes to the settings. As a result all the pages show 0 vistors or data.
