Sadly it seems that your Wordpress Plug-in WassUp Version 1.7.1 breaks the Dashboard Screen Options in Wordpress 2.8 .
That is to say, that after activating WassUp Version 1.7.1 when running on Wordpress Version 2.8 that Screen Options no longer works on the Dashboard.
Nothing happens when you click on Screen Options. If I disable the plug-in, it works again just fine.

This is sgtrange because I have no problem with WP 2.8 and WassUp 1.7.1, everything works fine.
Do you have the WassUp widget on the dashboard when you have this problem?

Strange. Just noticed this in the dashboard source code after I enable WassUp:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1966080 bytes) in /public_html/wp-includes/class-simplepie.php on line 5353
Don't have this fatal error if WassUp is not enabled.
Wow using more than 32MB of RAM. Ouch!

Though sadly I also have had to up the max memory usage to 64M because of this.

Unfortunately, there are multiple problems in Wordpress 2.8 (try changing a dashboard widget option!). Wassup isn't the cause. See http://wordpress.org/support/topic/278536. Hopefully, most will be fixed in the 2.8.1 release coming very soon.
